Online assessment must know who wrote the script. This paper reports Brigant’s proportional identity checks and student survey responses from the UK and overseas online cohorts. Students accepted checks framed as award protection. They rejected invasive proctoring for low-stakes tasks. Campus ID practice was used as the fairness benchmark, not as a claim that online is suspicious. University of Brigant should keep identity assurance aligned across pathways. DEAC- and UK-facing distance education lives on this operational research.
