University of Brigant assesses in English. This chapter reports optional academic-support clinics in Gaelic and Scots that improved English assessed writing for students who think in those languages, on campus and online. The clinics were not a demand to mark degrees in every language. They were a way to think before writing the assessed piece. Brigant should fund this as student support rooted in place. A university that cites the Brigantes and ignores living Scottish languages is performing heritage.
